Why us, in four lines

Slow on purpose, honest by habit.

Most converters chase volume. We don't. The math of a careful campervan only works if you build a small number of them, and you tell the customer the truth at every stage. That's the whole pitch.

One spec, drawn three times.

We don't sell tiers. Every commission is sketched, reviewed, and revised three times before a single panel is cut. Materials presented physically: carpet colours you can hold against the panel, leatherette weights you can feel.

Sixteen weeks, fixed.

Spec, design, build, handover. Each stage has a date written down before contract. We've missed our 16-week handover twice in six years, both times for parts shortages outside our control, both times we covered the customer's interim hire.

Warrantied, then supported for life.

A 12-month workmanship warranty on the conversion, plus a comprehensive mechanical warranty on the vehicle. After that, lifetime ownership support and 24/7 assistance. You stay part of the HubDub family long after the keys change hands.

Twelve a year, never more.

We turn down forty enquiries a year because the maths only works at this scale. Twelve campers means each one gets the cabinetmaker's full attention for thirteen weeks. That is the only way.

The process

Sixteen weeks, four stages.

  1. 01Weeks 1–2
Five HubDub campervans lined up on the gravel at Aylings Garden Centre, Petersfield: four VW Transporters and a Ford Transit Custom with their pop tops raised
    The forecourt, Petersfield

    Spec.

A long conversation, usually stood on the forecourt next to something we have already built. Base vehicle, layout, roof, finishes, budget — all of it settled before anyone quotes.

    • Showroom visit
    • Use-case workshop
    • Indicative quote
  2. 02Weeks 3–5
A Dometic two-burner gas hob and stainless steel sink combination unit set into an oak-effect worktop, with the glass lids raised
    The galley, specified

    Design.

Layouts drawn by hand, then the finishes put in front of you physically: worktop, carpet colour, cabinet fronts, the exact galley unit going in. Two design reviews before a panel is cut.

    • Hand-drawn layouts
    • Finishes in the hand
    • Fixed-price quote
  3. 03Weeks 6–14
A cabinet door open in a HubDub campervan, showing the built-in fridge-freezer, riveted aluminium carcass edging and shelves on rails
    Mid-build, doors open

    Build.

Nine weeks on the floor. This is the side nobody photographs: riveted aluminium carcass edging, a lined interior, shelves on rails, the fridge built into the run rather than dropped into a hole.

    • Weekly photographs
    • Two site visits
    • Direct line to the bench
  4. 04Weeks 15–16
An M1 crash-tested rock and roll bed in quilted rust-brown leatherette with cream inserts, embroidered VW roundels and three-point seatbelts
    Finished, and handed over

    Handover.

Three days with us. Half a day of training, a night in the camper on site, then it is yours — with a 12-month conversion warranty and lifetime ownership support behind it.

    • Half-day training
    • Overnight stay
    • 12-month warranty

Wow! Just got my VW T6 camper! What a pleasure from initial conversation, viewing a camper at Luca's to see up close the excellent HubDub interior, right through the past few weeks whilst getting mine kitted out to collecting it yesterday. Luca has been great with speedy responses throughout and when I wasn't expecting it getting pics of the van in the workshop showing off the copper bronze I'd chosen for the lower bodywork. To say I'm chuffed with my camper is an understatement of the decade. I'd highly recommend HubDub to anyone thinking of getting an affordable but newly converted camper. Luca, thank you. You've thought of everything. Big up the HubDub!! (Ps I'd give 6/5 stars!!!)

I can't say enough good things about Hubdub campers! From start to finish, our experience was absolutely brilliant. We recently picked up our camper, and it was exactly as promised by Luca. He was incredibly helpful throughout the entire process, ensuring we had all the information we needed and that everything ran smoothly. What truly impressed us was the after-sales service. It was second to none, and it's clear Hubdub campers genuinely care about their customers even after the purchase. If you're looking for a camper and want a stress-free, positive experience, I highly recommend Hubdub campers.

We are so pleased with our camper conversion and can't wait for our adventures to begin. As a family of four we have been looking for a camper that would provide enough space for long weekends away. The configuration of the camper met our criteria, providing ample space and clever storage solutions to ensure everything has its place. Luca had been a pleasure to deal with right from the start and very reliable, responding to any messages promptly and providing us with all the necessary history on the camper when requested.

Eight things

We get asked first.

The questions that come up before contract. If yours isn't here, send a note and we'll add it.

  • That's our short-wheelbase conversion price: a VW Transporter or Ford Transit Custom with the full kitchen unit, SmartBed EVO II rock & roll bed, 12V and 240V electrics and a Dometic CRX-50 fridge. A long-wheelbase conversion starts at £17,989. Most conversions land between £17,000 and £24,000 once you've added a pop top and specified the finishes. The price is for the conversion only, so you supply the base van. We give you a fixed price at design sign-off in week 5.

  • Yes. Our price covers the conversion of a van you already own or buy. We convert VW Transporters and Ford Transit Customs only, so the base has to be one of those two. We'll PDI any van before signing: full inspection, OBD scan, structural check. We're happy to point you to trusted dealers for a sound base, and we may advise against anything with a salvage history or significant corrosion. If you'd rather we sourced the van for you, we can, at cost plus a small handling fee, quoted up front.

  • £2,500 to hold a slot, fully refundable until design sign-off in week 5. After sign-off, deposits are 30% of contract, also refundable if we miss our 16-week handover by more than three weeks (which has happened twice in six years, both times for parts shortages outside our control).

  • Yes. DVLA M1 SP reclassification is included in every build. It typically saves £400–£700 a year on insurance and unlocks lower congestion charge bands. We handle the V5C paperwork and inspection.

  • Yes to both. Finance is arranged case by case, so call us on 07822 001233 for more information and we'll talk you through the options. Part-exchange is welcome where the vehicle is a campervan or low-mileage daily-driver of clear value. We'll quote within 48 hours.

  • Two formal site visits are scheduled, usually weeks 8 and 13. You're welcome more often, by appointment. We send weekly progress photos every Friday whether you ask or not, plus a daily WhatsApp thread with your project manager.

  • A 12-month workmanship warranty covering the quality of our conversion and installation: cabinetry, electrical, plumbing, gas, water and controls, parts and labour. Your vehicle is also supplied with a comprehensive mechanical warranty protecting major mechanical components. Beyond that you get lifetime ownership support and 24/7 customer assistance: advice, guidance and help while you're away, whenever you need it.

  • Yes to both. Every conversion is fully insulated in fire-retardant, lightweight, non-irritant materials, lined in Hi-Flex flame-retardant carpet on all panels and metalwork, and floored in heavy-duty Altro. Night heating is specified to your travel pattern and quoted at design sign-off. EU travel pack (green card, breakdown, toll tags) adds £1,200. We've delivered campers as far as the Faroes and Andalucía.
